Lakeside Campus Executive Director Honored

Michelle Scully, Executive Director for Marymount California University’s Lakeside Campus was named to a distinguished group that Congressman John Garamendi honored in September as part of the Third Congressional District’s “Women of the Year” celebration. Scully received the honor along with 13 other women at a ceremony on Wednesday, September 24, 2014,
at the Yuba County Government Center.

Success by the Sea Scholarship Recipient

For first generation student Melanie Chavez, attending Marymount came as a last minute decision. After being accepted into a few University of California schools, Melanie was set to enroll in a community college because of financial difficulties that would have prevented her from attending a UC, even after receiving Cal Grants. It wasn’t until Melanie’s high school counselor told her about Marymount that Melanie decided to visit and apply. She was soon accepted, and Marymount provided Melanie with the one on one help that she needed for applying for financial aid and choosing all her classes.

Marymount Internships: The Washington Center

Laura Hernandez is the first Marymount California University student to be accepted into The Washington Center. The prestigious TWC gives interns an insider’s view of how the world really thinks and works. Laura participated in the academic internship program, which enables students to gain the experience needed for entry-level employment and to prepare for lives of achievement, engagement and leadership.

Marymount in the Schools Program

Marymount in the Schools Program is a concurrent enrollment program offered by Marymount California University in partnership with San Pedro High School. Students have the opportunity to earn university credit while enrolled in select AP courses.
