Alumni Profile: Laura Alioto ’79

Laura Woodhouse Alioto graduated from Marymount College in 1979 and went on to earn a business degree at Pepperdine University. She played collegiate tennis as a Marymount student. After graduation, she initially ran a small business in La Jolla, California, and then raised two daughters who are now themselves college

The field of sports management provides sports-minded people, who have a head for business, many choices for exciting careers in the world of athletics. Opportunities include careers in sports marketing and public relations, sports analytics, athletic recruitment, sports media or with sports teams.

MCU Board of Trustees welcomes two new members

Chairman of the Marymount California University board of trustees Burt Arnold, and university President Lucas Lamadrid, Ph.D., announced the appointment of two new members to the 2016-2017 board of trustees. Mary E. Kingston, R.N., M.N., F.A.C.H.E., and Kevin Baxter, Ed.D. have joined the university’s leadership group, comprised of 18 accomplished men and women.

Thomsen Named Interim Athletic Director

Marymount California University and President, Dr. Lucas Lamadrid announce that head women’s soccer coach, Courtney Thomsen has been named Interim Athletic Director for the MCU Mariners.
