Criminal justice professor Anthony DiLeva walked his students enrolled in the “Seminar for Criminal Justice” from the university’s Waterfront Campus to the nearby City Hall building. With permission from Los Angeles city councilmember Joe Buscaino, one of councilmember’s field deputies Ryan Ferguson gave a behind-the-scenes tour of “7th Heaven,” the LAPD jail built in early 1900s; the Perry Mason courtroom from the original TV series located on the sixth floor; and the Fire Museum.
“These three sites offer enriching information about our local community’s former criminal justice system and firefighting history,” said DiLeva. “To be able to learn from the past provides valuable information as my students plan their own careers in these areas,” said DiLeva.
