Grand Opening of the Student Veteran Center

The university considers serving our military students an honor, and part of that responsibility to the men and women of the United States armed forces starts with providing a caring and accommodating university experience. This includes a dedicated Veterans’ Student Organization and a full complement of onsite health and academic counseling along with the social support that will ensure a positive college experience and successful degree completion.

On March 28, the university held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the grand opening of its Student Veteran Center. On hand for the ceremonies were students who are U.S. veterans, Rancho Palos Verdes Mayor Brian Campaign, and Major General Peter James Gravett, who served as secretary of the California Department of Veterans’ Affairs until 2013. This student gathering spot provides a comfortable retreat for peer interaction and valuable resources for veterans.
