MCU Men’s Soccer – #3 in the Nation

Congratulations to the MCU Men’s Soccer team for a brilliant season making it to the “final four” and ranking 3rd in the nation!  Their 1-0 loss to the Missouri Valley Vikings came with just 16 seconds left in the game, making their season record 17-4-3.

A celebration will be held for the team today (12/5) at 12:15 in the Café.  All are invited to congratulate the players and coaches.

In addition to the team earning national ranking, 3 players were also earned the prestigious title of NAIA Scholar Athlete. Tim Schemmer (JR/Bergkamen, Germany), David Padovan (SR/Hagen, Germany), Rene Aafjes (SR/Auckland, New Zealand) all earned a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA while competing for the university.  MCU Women’s Soccer player Sophia Tostado (JR/Long Beach, CA) also received NAIA Scholar Athlete. This is the first time MCU has received this prestigious award.
