Marymount California University Announces New President

Rancho Palos Verdes, CA (February 8, 2018) Marymount California University’s Board of Directors has named Brian Marcotte President of the University. Marcotte is succeeding Dr. Lucas Lamadrid in this role, effective immediately.

“As a member of the Board of Trustees of Marymount California University for over eight years, Brian has proven himself as a true leader,” stated the University’s Board of Trustees. “When looking for someone to lead the University into the future, continuing our growth and progress towards achieving the status of a premier university, he was the clear choice.”

Marcotte is an experienced executive, having been the CEO and President of Titan Oil Recovery for nine years and before that was with Unocal Corporation, a multi-national energy resources company, serving in a variety of leadership roles within the organization.

Marcotte continued, “Marymount is so unique in many ways. Its location makes it a jewel to be enjoyed and cherished, and the connection between faculty and students is unparalleled. I am honored to be part of this journey.”
