Service and Justice Opportunities

Called to Serve

Marymount California University embodies our core value of service throughout our campus community. Campus Ministry joins other student groups in organizing service opportunities and volunteer activities. These include programs of direct service to our local community as well as opportunities for reflection and advocacy on global issues.  These include:

  • Providing outreach and food to those who are homeless
  • Annual Hunger Awareness Week and Hunger Banquet
  • Alternative Spring Break (co-sponsored with Student Affairs)
  • Cabrillo Beach cleanup and reflection on the environment
  • Food and clothing drives for Harbor Interfaith Services of San Pedro
  • Fundraising for Catholic Relief Services and the Torrance Pregnancy Health Center

Marymount Student Ministers are selected each year to lead retreats, prayer services, outreach and community building. Student ministers have opportunities for faith formation, mentoring, and hands-on leadership roles. We invite our students to consider being part of a joyful, faith-filled ministry team that provides meaningful relationships and support and while building up our university community.
