The Book of Ezekiel follows a mother and daughter observing an annual family ritual honoring an enslaved ancestor. Seeking a deeper connection, the daughter discovers she and her ancestor share a common passion.
The filmmaker will be present at the screening.
Iyatunde Oshunade Folayan (aka LaTrice) identifies as an AfroQueer writer, filmmaker, and performance artist. A Detroit native based in Long Beach, she wrote and directed the short films My Grandmother Worked and The Book of Ezekiel. Iyatunde served as an associate producer and music researcher for the PBS documentary A Litany for Survival: The Life and Work of Audre Lorde. Iyatunde is excited to acquire funding for her play “Savior” and her short films Black Water and Who Saves Brown Girls Who Don’t Holler.
