Grad of the Week: Alex Salcedo
During graduation season, MCU is pleased to shine a light on a few of our students who are members of the Class of 2020. Students who are candidates for graduation are showcased on a weekly basis leading up to the May commencement ceremony.
What is your major?
Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies: Arts & Media and Philosophy
What are your plans and hopes for after graduation?
My plans after graduation are to continue studies towards my Masters degree in Theology. My hopes after graduation is to build my career from my studies and to be an example for others.
What have you been involved in while at MCU?
What is your favorite memory of MCU?
Having developed long lasting friendships with my peers in and outside the classroom.
What advice do you have for other students?
Be open to forming new relationships with others, allow yourself to unwind, simply listen, take care of yourself.(health), balance your time, stay organized, and ask for help when needed.
What was your favorite experience at MCU?
My favorite experience at MCU was being able to be involved with Campus Ministry and be a witness to students who wanted to know more about ways to have an active faith. With this came great interactions that stemmed from positive experiences.
What was your favorite class at MCU and why?
Human Nature and Values. This course was important to me because it allowed me to open my eyes to the importance of cultural differences and the outcomes that they can have on society.
Who inspired you at MCU and why?
I was inspired by Dr. Matthew Fisher. His youthful approach as a university professor brings a big difference to the face of the University and draws more students to build effective relationships that can be extremely beneficial.
