Alexandria Schmainda MCU Grad of the Week

During graduation season, MCU is pleased to shine a light on a few of our students who are members of the Class of 2020.  Students who are candidates for graduation are showcased on a weekly basis leading up to the May commencement ceremony. 

What is your major?
Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice

What are your plans and hopes for after graduation?
I plan to get a position at the Department of Homeland Security and to continue my education.

What have you been involved in while at MCU?
I was involved in MSGA – Marymount Student Government Association.

What is your favorite memory of MCU?
My favorite memory would be having different guest speakers come and speak to the criminal justice classes I took.

What advice do you have for other students?
Make sure to have fun and do internships to open your mind to all the different career opportunities.

What was your favorite experience at MCU?
My favorite experience at MCU would be walking onto campus for the first time and meeting everyone at freshman orientation.

What was your favorite class at MCU?
My favorite class at MCU is tough because I loved all my classes that I took with each professor for criminal justice and psychology.

Who inspired you at MCU and why?
So many people inspired me at MCU it’s hard to pick — Professor Twomey, Professor Royal, Professor Dileva, Dr. K, Dr. Lauer, and Professor Vasquez.
