There are two choices for connecting to the Marymount wireless network at The Villas: Marymount Public and In-Unit Network. Each Wireless Access Point (WAP) in the units has a label affixed which provides login information.  The wireless SSID and Password are based on this Building # and Unit # information.

Marymount Public – This is a shared wireless network with open security.  You can log into this network anywhere on the student housing campus.  Please note since this is a shared network, it will slow down during heavy usage periods (e.g. in the evening).

In-Unit Network – This is a *hidden* wireless network with WPA2 security.  You can log into this network while in your unit using the assigned password.  This network has dedicated bandwidth and will provide better performance.

Login instructions for the in-unit *hidden* wireless network:

MAC / IOS Devices:

  1. Open Airport / Wi-Fi window
  2. Choose “Other Network”
  3. Enter your specific in-unit SSID in the Network Name field.  Your SSID is marked on the front of the Access Point in each unit.
  4. Choose WPA2 as the Security option
  5. Enter your specific in-unit Password in the Password field.  Your Password is marked on the front of the Access Point in each unit.
  6. Press Join

Android Devices:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Under Wi-Fi Networks, choose “Add Wi-Fi network”
  3. Enter your specific in-unit SSID in the Network Name field.  Your SSID is marked on the front of the Access Point in each unit.
  4. Choose WPA2 as the Security option
