Ariane Schauer, PhD
Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
Ariane Schauer is the chief architect of Marymount’s academic transformation from a two-year college to a university offering bachelor’s and graduate programs.
She brings significant experience in program development, accreditation, faculty development, governance, curriculum and assessment. Under her leadership, Marymount has developed new degree programs and adopted new technologies, student services and faculty-mentored research in every degree program.
Schauer is the institution’s accreditation liaison officer and also provides oversight and leadership to the Student Affairs division, including advising, learning support and career services.
She earned a PhD in economics from UCLA and holds the rank of professor of economics. She is also a regular presenter at Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) conferences and serves as a WSCUC reviewer.
