Brian Marcotte became the eighth president of Marymount California University in 2018 after having served eight years on its board of trustees.
An experienced executive, Marcotte retired as CEO of Titan Oil Recovery, Inc. and previously was a corporate vice president of public policy, health environment and safety at Unocal Corp., a multi-national energy resources company, in addition to his role as its president of international energy operations for The Netherlands, Indonesia and Thailand. He has also held executive positions at various other companies in the oil and gas industry.
Marcotte has served as a member and vice chairman of the Petroleum Institute of Thailand’s Council of Trustees, Chulalongkorn University Sasin Graduate School Advisory Council, member of the Thailand Development Research Institute, president of the board of directors for the Indonesian Petroleum Association, the Board of Management for the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (Fulbright Scholarships), and the University of Southern California Viterbi School of Engineering Dean’s Advisory Council.
Marcotte has been married for 44 years to his wife Nan. They have two grown children. Addam is principal and general manager of FMG Leading, a human capital strategy advisory firm in San Diego, and Brianna is establishing a therapeutic horsemanship program for children and adults with cognitive and physical disabilities, as well as becoming a professional dog trainer and horse trainer.
